About UsMr. Richard Kaiser, P.E., is Owner and President of Kaiser Structural, Inc., a full service Consulting Structural Engineering firm located in Oro Valley, Arizona. Mr. Kaiser is registered as a Professional Structural Engineer in the states of Arizona and Nevada. A native Tucsonan, Mr. Kaiser holds a Master of Science degree in Structural Engineering and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, both from the University of Arizona. Mr. Kaiser is currently seeking his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering in the fields of high strength composites and material science.In addition to operating Kaiser Structural, Inc., Mr. Kaiser currently serves as a member of the Pima County Building Codes Board of Appeals. Previously, Mr. Kaiser was awarded a Dwight D. Eisenhower Grant for Research Fellowship to perform concrete strengthening/rehabilitation research at the Federal Highway Administration in McLean, Virginia. Mr. Kaiser's research involved retrofitting reinforced concrete girders with high strength Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymers (CFRP). While performing full-time research at the FHWA, Mr. Kaiser attended the University of Maryland as a visiting graduate student. In the past, Mr. Kaiser served as President and Vice-President of the Structural Engineers Association of Arizona, Tucson Chapter. Mr. Kaiser also served as a part-time adjunct lecturer at the University of Arizona, teaching structural steel design, concrete masonry design, and wood design courses. Additionally, Mr. Kaiser worked in various structural design and project management roles with Holben, Martin & White Consulting Structural Engineers, a John A. Martin & Associates affiliate. Projects included Drachman Hall for the University of Arizona; the City of Tucson Community Resource Center & The United Way; the Pima County Public Hearing Room Displacement; the Town of Marana Municipal Complex; the City of Sierra Vista Aquatic Center; Cottonwood and Sycamore Elementary Schools for the Vail, Arizona school district; and the Tucson International Airport Expansion.
